Terms & conditions

Last updated: 7 October 2026

1. Who we are and accepting these terms

Icon Vulture (iconvulture.com) is a free icon download site, run as a personal, non-commercial project by Craig Harrison (“we”, “us”). You can contact us at hello@iconvulture.com.

By using the site or downloading anything from it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. How we handle personal data and cookies is explained in our Privacy & cookies page.

2. Using the site

The site and the icons on it are free to use. You agree to use the site lawfully and not to:

  • attack, overload or disrupt the site, or try to get around its security or its limits on requests;
  • scrape or copy the site in bulk with automated tools in a way that harms its performance (ordinary search engines are welcome);
  • upload anything harmful, such as malware or SVG files containing scripts;
  • pretend to be someone else, or use the site to break the law.

We may limit, suspend or block access if we reasonably think these terms are being broken, or to protect the site. We may also change, pause or remove any part of the site, or any icon or pack, at any time.

3. Icon licences and credit

Every icon pack has its own licence and, in many cases, an author who must be credited. The licence for a pack is shown on its pack page and on each icon’s page, and it is the licence, not these terms, that sets out what you may do with that icon. Some licences are very permissive (for example CC0, MIT or ISC) and some require credit (for example CC BY).

When you download a collection as a ZIP, it includes a file called CREDITS-AND-LICENCES.txt with the credits and the full licence text for every pack in the download. Keep that file with the icons, or give the credit it asks for wherever you use them. We do not restate the licences here, so please read the one that applies to the icons you use.

Icons are provided for you to use under their licence. Unless a licence says otherwise, you may not claim an icon as your own work, or resell or redistribute icons as a competing icon download collection.

4. Submitting icons and other content

You can send us icons through our Submit your icons page. If you do, you promise that:

  • you created the icons, or you have the right to submit them and to let us publish them under the licence you tell us about;
  • they do not infringe anyone’s copyright, trade mark or other rights, and they contain nothing unlawful, harmful or hateful.

Submitting an icon does not oblige us to publish it. If we do publish it, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free right to host, display and distribute it on Icon Vulture under the licence you chose, and to make small technical changes (for example sanitising an SVG or generating PNG versions). You keep ownership of your work, and we will credit you as you ask. We may edit or remove a submission at any time, and you can ask us to remove yours by emailing us or using our report form.

Any personal details you send with a submission or message are handled as described in our Privacy & cookies page.

5. Intellectual property and takedown requests

Apart from the icons, which belong to their authors and are licensed as described in section 3, the design of the site, its logo, the name “Icon Vulture” and the text we have written belong to us or our licensors. You may not use them in a way that suggests we endorse you, or copy them, without our written permission.

If you believe something on the site infringes your rights, for example an icon that you own and did not license for distribution, please use our report form or email hello@iconvulture.com with: your name and contact details; the page address; what you own and why you believe it has been used without permission; and a statement that your information is accurate. We will look into it promptly and, where the claim appears valid, remove or disable the content while we do. We may pass your message to the person who submitted the icon.

6. Third-party links

The site may link to websites run by others, including icon authors and licence texts. We do not control those sites, and we are not responsible for their content, security or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.

7. No warranties

We try to keep the site accurate and available and the icons safe, but the site and its icons are provided “as is” and “as available”. We cannot promise the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, that icons are suitable for a particular purpose, or that the licence information provided by third-party authors is complete. You are responsible for checking that an icon is right for your use and for following its licence. We recommend you scan any file you download, as you would with anything from the internet.

8. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law. If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights under the law of the country where you live.

Because the site and its icons are free, and subject to the paragraph above, we are not liable to you for loss that was not a reasonably foreseeable result of our breaking these terms, nor for loss of profit, business, revenue, data or goodwill.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example when the site or the law changes. The date at the top shows when they were last updated. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the new terms. Changes do not affect icons you have already downloaded, which stay under the licence they had when you got them.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms, and any dispute or claim arising from them or from your use of the site, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in the EU or elsewhere in the UK, you also keep the benefit of the mandatory consumer protection laws of the place where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that place.

11. Contact

Questions, complaints, takedown requests or anything else about these terms: email hello@iconvulture.com.
